Alison Baverstock began her career within publishing, and for many years has run training courses for the publishing profession on marketing, copywriting and communication. She has published widely, with 14 books on publishing and writing and numerous papers for the professional press. She now teaches marketing within Kingston Business School and marketing for students of creative writing within Kingston's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. She has written three distance learning courses for students of marketing and writing. She is part of the team setting up a new MA in Publishing Studies at Kingston University, to begin in October 2006.
