From Manuscript to Printed Page: Training Student Editors on Real Publications
This presentation describes how a medium-sized public university far from the publishing centers of the country developed a strong certificate program based on practical experience and mentoring from experienced editors.

Casey Huff has worked in literary and scholarly publishing since 1980 and now coordinates the certificate program in literary editing and publishing at CSU, Chico. He has worked for Scholars Press, worked as a freelance editor, and, since 1984, directed Flume Press, a small publisher of poetry and fiction chapbooks. Since 2001, he has coordinated the literary editing and publishing program at CSU, Chico. He also serves as the university’s publication editor, in the Office of Public Affairs and Publications.
